Thank you for taking the time to visit!
Ethics is the heart of health care. Raising awareness of the moral dimension of our everyday actions and building a commitment to arrive at the best moral decision is essential. But health care ethics is also a rational enterprise that requires presenting views based on a reasoned and justifiable argument and on facts and experiences of individuals and communities. Our Centre for Health Care Ethics has been striving for the past ten years to draw attention to the broad area of value judgments about good and harm in order to contribute to the improvement of the practice of health care and research involving humans in our own community and beyond.
This website is a window on the current and past activities of our Centre as well as an instrument of communication. We would like to hear your views, whether you are a doctor, patient, nurse, client, family member, student, activist, volunteer, researcher, educator, administrator, or any other concerned professional or community member. Consider joining our membership ranks. We welcome suggestions for future programs, as well as comments on past activities. Please, share with us your questions and problems, ethical dilemmas and experiences, and attend our next education session. Together, we can make a difference.
